At twice the size of London’s Hyde Park and spanning 700 acres, Roundhay Park in Leeds is one of the biggest urban parks in Europe.
The park itself features landscaped gardens, areas of woodland, rivers, gorges, as well as tennis courts, football pitches and a bowls court.

Beckett Park forms part of Leeds Beckett University, and though understandably popular with students it is open to everyone.
Like Roundhay Park, Beckett Park includes huge spaces of grassy parkland, a beautiful area of woodland and tennis courts. Inside the woods you can find the historic Queen Victoria Arch, which was built in 250 to commemorate the Queen’s visit to Leeds.

Popular with walkers, skaters and runners alike, Woodhouse Moor is the perfect spot for some outdoor relaxation.
Created for the residents of Woodhouse Square in 1840 and becoming public in 1905, this 27-hectare park has seven tree-lined paths that lead visitors into its centre.
There are also tennis and basketball courts here, and it’s the start of the Meanwood Valley Trail.

5.Horsforth Hall Park
Another park with stunning tree-lined walkways is Horsforth Hall Park. As well as its large areas of grassland, it also features a traditional bandstand with live entertainment in the summer and stunning Japanese gardens.
There is also a skate park and a cricket pitch at the park. And this is a popular place for walkers and picnickers alike!
