Manchester City Council is planning to create a new, innovative “Piccadilly Central” district surrounding Manchester Piccadilly rail station. This is while HS2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail help establish new “Piccadilly Central” in Manchester. The station itself will be the home of the HS2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail. Connecting Bradford, Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool in just one hour.
Described as a “once-in-a-century opportunity” has been the development of Piccadilly Central. It is hoped it will result in a transformation similar to the recent London King’s Cross area regeneration. This is as the HS2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail help establish the new “Piccadilly Central” district in Manchester. The aim is to create a new world-class hub for transportation in and out of Manchester. Predicted to massively increase in the station is footfall. Therefore planned along the North of the station is a tree-lined boulevard. This will therefore help pedestrians easily move between the east and west of the site.
A Place to Live, Work and Enjoy
2.9 million square feet of office space and a further 261,000 square feet of retail space will be located in the northern section of the station. Therefore this will create the hundreds of new shops and other commercial businesses that will form the heart of Piccadilly Central as well as 5,000 new homes and 250 new hotel rooms are to be constructed in the area.
We are actively working with the development partners in the area to offer investment opportunities. So if you would like to know more check out our Manchester property area.
