A redevelopment of the former Bank House building, offices are located on the seventh floor of the 12-story building.  The commercial property firm leading the project is Bruntwood who own, let and manage over 100 buildings supporting general business and SciTech. Microsoft’s new office forms part of their plan to build a “strong base” in the north of England.

    Modern Offices

Neo boasts a large number of state-of-the-art facilities perfect for a technological giant. Such as one facility that is a Bluetooth-enabled mobile door access and high quality tech-enabled workspaces. Another is a £250,000 interactive digital art space helps promote a creative working environment.

Tenants’ health and fitness are also catered for with each tenant receiving a free Fitbit. Furthermore, bicycle parking is also available on-site. Also, offered at a discount to tenants is a gym. In addition, to encourage collaborative working is an on-site community and engagement manager. They will manage a year-round schedule of social and business support events.

    Technological History

Microsoft is only one of an increasing number of digital innovation and communication specialists to join the city’s business community. They are supported and championed by the independent industry organisation Manchester Digital.

The perfect fit for Microsoft is Manchester with its long technological history. In the 1940s and 1950s Manchester was the birthplace of modern computing. In addition, Professor Alan Gilbert, President and Vice-Chancellor of The University of Manchester, added “Sixty years ago The University of Manchester won the race to create the first digital stored program computer. It was an arresting achievement that put Manchester at the forefront of a global technological revolution.” As such it is only fitting that this 21st century global leader is now playing it’s part in the city’s history too.
