A panel of Leeds property experts have given their predictions for the best places in the city to invest in property during 2022. Leeds property investments will continue to boom over the next 12 months, and finding the best place to buy property in the city is key to a lucrative investment.
So, according to the experts, what are the three Leeds property investment hotspots to look out for in 2022?
North Leeds
North Leeds is tipped to continue to be an excellent part of Leeds to invest in property, due to its wealth of outdoor space and excellent amenities.
Leeds Local Property Partner for Purplebricks, Julie Wilson, listed Roundhay, Oakwood, Chapel Allerton and Meanwood as Leeds areas for buy-to-let investors to consider.
She said Roundhay and Oakwood will be popular due to “Roundhay Park, a lovely green space, Oakwood farmers market for local produce, and Street Lane with many bars and restaurants.”
Julie Wilson highlighted Chapel Allerton and Meanwood, for the “Meanwood Valley Trail and many local amenities.”
Leeds City Centre
Leeds city centre has seen a resurgence of buyers and tenants following the coronavirus pandemic, and its prospects are set to continue to flourish over the following year.
Managing director of Manning Stainton, Mark Manning, picks the city centre as one of his areas to watch for Leeds property investments.
He explains: “In 2022 we will also see a resurgence in Leeds City Centre prices.
“The city centre continues to attract a significant number of new businesses and is reaffirming itself as a powerhouse of the North, so prices will rise.
“On the back of this, we’ll also see neighbouring suburbs like Holbeck benefitting from new investment and subsequent rises in property prices.”
West Leeds
The west of Leeds is another great area to consider investing in property during 2022, according to local experts.
This part of the city includes Kirkstall and Burley, which Julie Wilson predicts will prosper over the next year thanks to the excellent community spirit. She says, “These types of hotspots are likely to continue thriving next year, such as Kirkstall and Burley with Kirkstall Abbey, many events, markets and concerts, as well as plenty of local amenities.”
Further west other great areas to invest in Leeds property are Pudsey and Farsley, both of which Julie Wilson says “are prime for young professionals settling in Leeds with plans for future family life.”
She goes on to say that “Farsley town street has a great community feel with many amenities. Pudsey [has] its parks, shops, train station and bus station [and] is ever increasing in popularity.”
What Is Property Investment?
If you’re considering making a Leeds property investment but aren’t really sure what a property investment entails, we’ve put together a helpful guide.
Property investment is when a property is purchased with the intention of generating financial returns for its buyer. These returns could be in the form of rental income through buy-to-let properties, house price growth through the future sale of the property or both. Property investments can be owned by individuals or organisations and can be short, long or medium term.
